Professor Goh Thong Ngee obtained his BE from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.  He is Academician of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ), Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Honorary Member of the Singapore Quality Institute (SQI). 

He is the Founding President of the Singapore Institute of Industrial Engineers and former President of the Singapore Statistics Institute. Professor Goh is formerly Head of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, and Director, Office of Quality Management, among many administrative appointments at NUS.

Recent international honors include: "Educator of the Year" Award of the IEEE Engineering Management Society, the inaugural Dr Masing Book Prize of the IAQ, and the William G Hunter Award of the ASQ Statistics Division.
