Alex was previously the Project Manager in DSTA for several public-private-partnership (PPPs) aerospace programmes for pilot training in the Singapore Air Force. He was responsible for the evaluation and the acquisition of aircraft, flight simulators and integrated logistics support.
From 2000-2005, Alex managed the collaboration effort in a broad range of defence R&D projects with the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden and Germany. He played a key role in formulating technology-related policies, most notably developing intellectual property policies within the Ministry of Defence, and strengthening Singapore's export control legislation for military and dual-use technologies.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) Degree from the National University of Singapore under a Public Service Commission scholarship.
