June Hwang joined DSTA (formerly known as Defence Materiel Organisation) in 1997 as was a Project Manager in Land Systems Division, where he was in charge of acquisition of specialist army equipment for the SAF. He was also in involved in the development of the Advanced Combat Man System.

From 2005 to 2006, June Hwang was an Investment Manager in Fortune Venture Management, a private venture capital firm specialising in high tech start ups spanning Taiwan, mainland China and the United States.

June Hwang graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelors of Engineering (Mechanical) and Masters of Science (Applied Finance) degrees. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Financial Risk Manager(FRM)..
